Hi everyone. I have to cancel my plans to be at Interaction 12. This is unfortunate for me after a year of planning for Dublin, but lucky for you if you waited to register: My ticket is yours at the 575 euro Early Bird discount rate (full conference rate is 650 euros).
Please email me or get in touch on Twitter: kaleemux (at) gmail (dot) com or @kaleemux.
An announcement for the new year - Filip Szymczak is a new local leader for IxDA Dublin. I hope you will all show your support to him in taking on this new role in what will be a major year for IxDA Dublin.
Filip has played a key role in organising Defuse 2011 & Defuse 2010 as well as being our best supporter of monthly events so we should have an interesting calendar of events happening this year. We're kicking off with the January meet-up which will be on Wed 18th Jan 6:30pm in The Gingerman. Hope you can come along to wish Filip well that night.
The IxDADublin Defuse - Design for Use event will be back on Fri 5th November 2011 during Design Week. We're looking for volunteers to make it as huge a success as last year. We had a great crew involved last year which meant everything ran really smoothly. If you are interested in getting involved we'll be having our first planning meeting on Wed 24th August upstairs in Neary's at 6:30pm. If you can't make that, let us know you are interested at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll fill you in. Open to anyone interested - there'll be something to sui
Come and flex your creative muscles with Rapid Design Challenges
at the IxDA Dublin February social. You've heard of 24-hour design
challenges, maybe 1-hour design challenges...well we're going for
10-minute challenges! We'll be posing a number of fun, stimulating
exercises on interaction, visual and creative design.
New members are very welcome. But don't worry, you don't have to be
an expert interaction designer to come along, it's all just for fun and
you'll be able to team up with other IxDAers. And as always there'll be
plenty of time for social banter.
It is with great pleasure that I announce Dublin and the Institute of Art, Design & Technology (IADT) as the co-hosts for Interaction 12, the annual conference of the Interaction Design Association (IxDA).
Dublin was one of five submissions received during our open call for proposals, alongside Berlin, Delft, Helsinki and Paris. A small evaluation panel reviewed and assessed each proposal.
