Does anyone know of a good natural audio mapping for "too close" and "too far away"?
Users are using a laser scanning device to capture a 3D shape. The device functions well within a certain range distance from the shape, less so when getting closer or further away from it. The software should provides audio feedback to indicate where the user is in relation to the ideal distance.
I am a junior interface designer living here in Dallas Texas. I just recently lost my job in telemarketing for social media, in which I really didn't like, I tried reasoning with my company about interaction design but they wouldn't hear me out. I would like to start an organization that mirrors the values of ixDA's principles, yet targets the younger demographic. I would like to educate high school students about interaction design creating youth clubs and fostering an interest early. I'm hoping to get collegiate students interested as well to gain more colleagues in the industry.
I would like to ask if anyone could point out a visual design association well organized as IxDA. I am aware of some of them like AIGA, Core 77 and a couple of others, but I feel all of those I know lack the type of resourceful discussion list and engaged community found here.
Needless to say that nothing prevents visual design threads being cast on IxDA as we notice from time to time, but I am after something more specific about that discipline of design.
