A vision for the 10-finger desktop

For some time, I've been intrigued by the question of what comes next
after the mouse and the windowed desktop, the Xerox PARC legacy of
desktop human-computer interaction. The paradigm that PARC gave us
has proven amazingly versatile. But even it has its limitations, both
in navigability and interaction bandwidth.

E-commerce websites for mobile

What rules should one follow while designing e-commerce websites for
the mobile? I understand that usability on mobile is extremely
primitive and very difficult. In such a case what are the usability
rules and GUI guidelines one needs to adhere to?

As far as I know that using assisted technologies (Javascript, AJAX,
jQuery, Flash, Flex, etc) would make the experience even more
cumbersome and confusing only because the Mobile has not evolved.

Looking for examples of Gui\'s for persons who never seen/used a computer. For example the GUI of the one laptop per child project

Hi All,

I've been ask to think about a GUI concept for users who have never
seen a computer before.

For the time being and inspiration I look for examples. Things like
the GUI of the "one laptop per child" project:

The things i sort of decided on, are:

- using a touch screen for direct interaction. Non direct interaction
using keyboard or mouse will steepen the learning curve.

- using color coded sections and working a lot with the concept of
spatial recognitition.

Come design ITSME with us

Hi everyone,

I wanted to introduce "Itsme" project to you all and gather your
comments and feedback on it, which I think is very important for the
project as we are moving on from the initial design phase to the
development phase.

So, here goes a little about itsme......

Itsme is a new kind of PC that we are designing and developing. It is
based on a new metaphor of "Stories and venues" : organizing
information as per the context in which they are generated and
