I'm starting a free, nonprofit coworking group called ++XX for women who do design / development /technical writing / social media / UX or whatever else. It's not a networking event... just a place to bring your laptop and work on projects and share skills. The first meeting is this Thursday. It's going to meet 4 times a month from 6pm-9pm on alternating Mondays and Thursdays (2 of those times at Metrix on Capitol Hill and 2 at Jigsaw Renaissance in the International District.)
Looking for a developer who is familiar with Photon programming on QNX.
We have the basic system and software on place, but the look & feel of it needs to be styled by implementing some new design elements (buttons, backgrounds, etc.) The UX design is complete - just need someone who can implement it on the existing software.
Please let me know if you can help, or if you know someone. Thanks!
In case you havent heard: Samsung Germany organizes an exclusve developer conference in Frankfurt/Germany on June 25th. The event is happening at the world famous cocoon club (http://www.cocoonclub.net). Platform innovators from the Samsung mobile innovation centers in London and Seoul will speak and give insight into the new platform and the ecosystem they plan to build around it. Tickets are full sponsored (aka free). Get more info and registration (in German only) at http://www.samsungdeveloperday.de.
One of the things I am interested as a designer is how we can work better with
developers. If you are lucky enough to work as part of an in-house team you
probably (hopefully) have a stronger relationship with developers than those
of use who only come in as consultants. Often as a consultant, the only
contact we have with the development team might be through the project
manager or technical lead. So we must rely on our design documents to
deliver our message.
Although we would all like our deliverables to be developer-friendly, they
don't always turn out that way.
Apologies for the cross posting. Please make sure you respond to the
bankofamerica.com email address listed at the end of this message. If
you send the email to me here at my gmail account, I won't read it.
