The Myth of Good Designers

There’s a ridiculous myth about good designers: they can deliver higher quality work faster. That’s simply NOT true when it comes to design.

This post originated from a discussion between a friend and me about designers and the “design field scene” in China. I wonder whether the same or similar issue exists in all other countries. Comment!

What are some unmet needs of interaction designers (professional and personal)?

I'm a graduate student doing some initial research for my thesis project.

As interaction designers, we spend a lot of time thinking about user's unmet needs, but I'm wondering if you could share some stories about your own unment needs in your work process or personal life as a designer? (e.g. pool performance of prototyping tools, etc...)

Thanks a lot!

Hello everyone,

I was recommended to join this group by someone here in Helsinki. I hope it is ok to post to this local group as a new member. I am looking for someone with a background in design (and preferably in scuba diving, too) for TangaReef. We are pre-launch (with our interim landing page at and looking for someone with talent and passion to get involved.

Thank you very much,

A local charity group, the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers (GAWL) wants to update the website for their annual art auction fundraiser, which will be held this April.  The event website is currently linked to the GAWL website, but it is a very elementary design, and they think that they're looking to start with something fresh.

If you're interested, send me a message and I can connect you with Suzannah Gill in order to get the ball rolling.
