In July, Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design is running a 2-week workshop that will demonstate how to access and use your own personal data to generate on-screen visualiations and 3D data 'sculptures'.
Taught by Marius Watz, participants will learn and explore a series of tools and techniques - including Processing and digital fabrication.
On top of all that, Copenhagen is a great city to visit when the sun is shining!
As a UX Manager, how do I help a business owner prioritize the many competing requests for improvement for a product/service? We are missing a Product Owner for this product and currently, the business owner is gathering all the feedback she's ever heard from internal sources and prioritizing the items of people who are screaming the loudest.
For you UX pros who are creatively using data in your product and service design…
Find out how brands and start-ups are turning big data into big profits on April 23 at the inaugural DAA New York Symposium: “Data is the New Sexy.”
So, try as I might, being a new UX developer, I'm trying to find reputable data about reputable companies who saved/made [insert actual dollar figure], and how usability testing was responsible. I was actually told at work today that "there is no way you can prove that usability testing makes money." It's a personal challenge now.
I was researching on new technology and media for RIA and found Live Mesh. I found that it seamlessly connects your data through Windows PC, Mac, Mobile Phone, and other devices. It is an interesting concept and would we not want all our work to be seamlessly, updated wherever we are on the go?
I know there has been much discussion about data visualization here,
but I ran into a need this week to represent not the data, but rather
what makes up the data. I.e., data point combinations or collections
of processes that produce the information that we are looking at.
The goal being to help understand which data is truly meaningful in
the context of discussion and for decision-making.
Does anyone have any tips or examples to point to?
