Identity / Authentication - Change Examples

Hi all-

I am looking for examples in the wild of sites and services that started out with a unique identifier as the login authentication and have recently switched to email as the login authentication.

Anyone seen this recently?

I am interested in documenting how they are alerting users to this shift in auth models and the UI flows that follow.

Any pointers and leads would be appreciated.

thanks

article on interactive identity

I wrote an article on the future of Corporate Design and how this
discipline relates to Enterprise IT, Intranet Design, Software User
Interfaces, and the expected rise of the consolidated Information
Workplace.

Since my thoughts on those topics are very much inspired by some
discussions on this list, please let me know what you think.

The Third Place: We're designing it now.

new third place?"

Where does one go to assuage loneliness or boredom? Do you open Twitter?
Swing by Facebook? Is email a third place?

Reading Joel on Software's Building Communities with Software
"The social scientist Ray Oldenburg talks about how humans need a
third place, besides work and home, to meet with friends, have a beer,
discuss the events of the day, and enjoy some human interaction.
