Quick & easy methods for usability testing micro-interactions?

Hey everybody,

I'm looking for suggestions for ways I can usability test some
micro-interactions on the site I'm working on. We've worked out a
bunch of the big questions - the flow and IA seem to be working, the
visual design is adding to the content, and users are enjoying
themselves on the site - but a handful of issues regularly pop up
that I would like to be able to test out with some users.

Interface Prototyping and Usability Testing

I'm currently in the process of developing a touch based interface
for AV system control. When deployed, the interface will be operating
on proprietry touch input hardware however I'm looking into
technologies I can utilize during the development and user testing

Users involved in the testing are geographically distributed so I'm
looking for tools I can use to quickly push out interface concepts
for feedback.

Google Reader: The Good and The Bad

After playing around with Google Reader, yes it is my first time, I
found it to be an amazing web app. However, I also found some awkward
stuff going on, for example:

- Add a subscription button: Searching feeds and adding using one
text field? Doesn't really line up in my mind.

usability testing equipment for mobile devices

Hello IxDA'rs

We are looking to purchase equipment for usability testing on mobile devices. I have done my research and there are 3 methods for this type of testing:

- Fixed device positioning: this setup is that the mobile device sits on a fix location with a webcam attached to the device via a metal neck or other type of support. The webcam points to the mobile device, recording the screen and the user's interaction with the device.
