Research on the impact of usability on learning in instructional games

I'm currently at the beginning stages of developing my thesis for an M.S. in Instructional Technology at Bloomsburg University. Over the past couple of years, I've become increasingly interested in instructional games and simulations as effective learning tools. However, as a UX and IXD professional, my focus has narrowed more on the UI aspects of instructional design -- more specifically instructional game design.

Usability Testing for an E-learning course

Hi Everyone,

I have been wondering how to go about condusting a Usability Test for an e-learning course, considering the fact that we always do not have access to the end users/participants to see how the e-learning has made a defference at his work.

Research tools for mobile devices? (software & hardware)

Hi,

Can anyone recommend any software/hardware that they have heard of, or have experience with, as far as conducting user testing on mobile devices, i.e., tablets and smartphones?

I am wondering what's out there and what seems to be well reviewed or popular.

Thanks,

John Terceman

Looking for A/B Online Testing Tool advice

Hi everyone,

could anyone recommend me a good on-line tool for (probably crowdsourced) A/B testing?

I need to A/B test some design mock ups (not coded pages) and all tools I found so far provide rather testing of the coded pages.

Thanks for any ideas :)

Discount testing techniques and ressources

Hi there,

I am in search for discount methods for usability testing. This will be for teaching students how to make their interaction design ideas real. There are some good ideas out there how to gether requirements via discount methods - but I am looking for ways for testing prototypes etc. Does anybody know good ressources on this topic or has own experiences he/she would like to share?

cheers,
jan

Quick & easy methods for usability testing micro-interactions?

Hey everybody,

I'm looking for suggestions for ways I can usability test some
micro-interactions on the site I'm working on. We've worked out a
bunch of the big questions - the flow and IA seem to be working, the
visual design is adding to the content, and users are enjoying
themselves on the site - but a handful of issues regularly pop up
that I would like to be able to test out with some users.
