Undergraduate programs for HcI, HCC, and Informatics

After 4 years of education (2 year degree) focused heavily around aesthetic graphical design, and some time in the professional industry as an interface (ux) designer, I have decided to continue moving forward with further education. My passion for design interaction, mental cognition, and technology, leads me to believe that further education is the most logical step towards growing in these areas of focus–

Applying for research opportunities in HCI focussing on IxD, UX, IA and usability

Greetings! I am a (very recent) graduate in Software Engineering from Sri Lanka and I wish to peruse my higher studies (postgrads) in research based user experience design and development. Professionally I do not have any HCI, usability or UX related work or research experience. As a matter of fact, there are no academic or commercial user experience labs in Sri Lanka. And finding opportunity to gain work experience on such a field is very hard here.

Does it worth doing a 7000£ Masters to become a UX designer?

Dear IXDA,

I have been a member of a few months now, since I have decided that I would like to specialise my career towards UX design after a degree in Multimedia Tech. and Design.

I have been pondering on what makes a UX designer, how does one call oneself as a HCI specialist or UX designer, there are hardly any specialised degrees on this subject.

Masters in HCI

Hi everyone,

I've just joined this forum so first of all, great work, there are some really interesting discussions on here and I have been a frequent visitor dispite not becoming a member.

Its just a quick question really. I've recently been offered a place at City University to study Human Centred Systems and I would like some opinions on the department. Compared to UCL's Human Computer Interaction with Ergonomics, what are people's experiences?

HCI Masters Programs: Georgia Tech v. Indiana Purdue v. Indiana Bloomington

Hello everyone. I am a soon-to-be HCI graduate student who is looking for some input and comments about certain M.S. in HCI programs that I have been accepted into. Before I talk about the schools, let me say a few things about my intended career path.
