I am a professional in the field looking for current, up-to-date, interaction design blog recommendations. I am an avid reader of ixd and user experience research, but some of the blogs in our field are out of date.

Lastly, many of my fellow IXDAer's get valuable user experience information from other types of technology blogs written with a user focused perspective. Know of anything like this?
Being new to the greater Cincinnati area, one of the
first things I became aware of was The Banks project. What I most frequently
hear is skepticism and doubt as to whether it will ever be realized. From what
I can surmise, recent progress includes beginning construction on residential
and retail developments.
On behalf of the new Interaction Design Majors at the University of Washington, I would like to say hello and tell you all how excited we are to be an up-and-coming part of the design community here in Seattle.
We would love to form a UW chapter of the IxDA and are looking for more information with regards to the best way to move forward. Should we fill out a Local Group Application? Is there some way for us to do it under the umbrella of the Seattle IxDA?
