A quick announcement and reminder that the 9th Annual Coroflot
Designer Salary Survey is currently open, but will be closing down at
midnight EST on Thursday, October 29.
Although there are a number of surveys that include IxD salaries,
Coroflot's is unique in the breadth of other design disciplines it
encompasses, offering a rare chance to view IxD in the context of the
creative professions overall.
The presence of the IxD field on the Survey, and on Coroflot as a
whole, has been growing dramatically over the past few years, so
we're eager to get as many responses as possible.
I'm working on web interaction testing project and I was hoping to
enlist the help of IxDA members. Help a brother out by taking a few
minutes to fill out this 9 question survey, via the link below, on
your typical design process. Next week I'll share the results on
this discussion thread. Thank you all in advance!
I just noticed Google Docs has a new feature in the Sharing section of a
spreadsheet, called "Invite people to fill out a form".
It seems to me like a pretty neat way to get online feedback/info from your
users. Of course, it has all the limitations a feedback form has as far as
quality and quantity of information, but I'm thinking it could be useful
when forms is what you need anyway.
For example, I was just in the middle of editing some feedback forms as word
docs (e-mailing is the best shot I have to get any feedback in this
If you are working in an open source project, we are inviting you to
participate in a doctorate study that investigates how developers and
HCI experts work in a distributed manner. You will be asked to answer
a set of questions regarding F/OSS projects you take part in.
I'm conducting a survey on how people use UI patterns. Specifically, I'm
curious about whether people use the patterns in "Designing Interfaces" in
the ways that I thought they'd be used. Are they used as design advice?
Brainstorming tools? A lingua franca? Design instruction?
