Visual interface training/workshops in Europe

Hi,

I'm searching for some good and short trainings/workshops in the field of "visual interface design" taking place in Europe. I've seen the one that Cooper offers ,it seems very good and interesting but I was looking for something closer, I live in Spain right now, and I want something around Europe.

Do you know about any course of that kind in Europe?

[IXDA] Anyone taken Cooper's Interaction Design Practicum? Is it *really* Interaction Design training?

Hi All,

I'm looking for some good training in Interaction Design to Supplement a Master's in HCI that touched on the topic. About Face was one of my required texts, so naturally I looked toward Cooper for training, but the curriculum just doesn't seem to address designing interactions.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Interaction Design Training (non web preferred)

Hi all

Have you attended any professional interaction training courses (2-4
days max) that you will highly recommend to fellow interaction
designers?

My work area are mainly in software and mobile devices design (mainly
interaction & occasional visual designs).

I currently looking at Cooper's training program. If u hv attended,
how is it? Is the approach practical? I hope to fine tune my skills
and if possible implement the best UX practises progressively to my
company.

thank you.

Thoughts on Alan Cooper's Keynote

When Alan Cooper delivered the opening keynote at Interactions08 this
morning, I was once again struck by how sensible his view is. As I
understood his core argument, it was:

1. We know that the best interactive products are not the first to
market but the ones that have the best quality design.

2. Business managers often fail to understand this because they do not
know how to manage "creatives" among whom he numbers both interaction
designers and programmers.

3. The typical business approach is to develop requirements and then
build the product.

Confirmation dialogs - the devil himself, or a necessary evil?

Hi all -

So our esteemed colleagues Messrs. Cooper and Reimann have told us that
confirmation dialogs are insulting and stupid, to be avoided at all
costs -- and in general, I agree with them.

The question, though, is whether there are any cases where it makes
sense to use them.
