I'm very pleased to announce the release of the IxDA's RFP for the next version of the platform.

Revamping will be a major initiative for the year ahead and a significant contribution to building IxDA's capacity to connect our community and facilitate meaningful dialogue.

We are seeking a partner agency that can work with us on a pro-bono basis to map the way forward and build out our new channels. This partner should be able to work with key IxDA stakeholders on the design, development, and deployment of a new web platform encompassing, IxDA Discussions, IxDA Local Groups, and our growing list of initiatives.

If you would like to submit a proposal for this project, please respond to and by 22 August 2013 with your intent to submit. Final proposals are due by 3 September 2013.

For full details please see the RFP document linked below.

We look forward to reviewing your responses and are happy to answer any questions.

I get the lack of funds. Why not crowd fund the site?

That way people can donate money toward the effort since it's likely they won't have time or access. You'll build buzz and attract bigger fish this way.

Seriously, just pop this thing on

We ran a funding campaign in the spring and raised enough to offer an honorarium with this RFP, the details are in the document. We also accept donations for any of our volunteer initiatives all the time through the Donate link on the home page (

We may look at other funding option in the future.

I did see the honorarium, but would love to see the association raise more. Thanks for the follow up and best of luck!

Also, will the development of this project happen out in the open?

If it's on Github I'll happily contribute a bit.
