I've been burned by a couple of under-planned events that evaporated here in PDX, so I'd like to confirm what Francis mentioned a couple of days ago on Twitter:
Is this sketching workshop still on? (I don't see anything mentioned in the IxDAPDX twitter feed or iSiteDesign's either, and nothing in this discussion group, so I'm wondering if this is more a rumour than a Real Thing.)
Yep it's still on! Come have fun with us! Here is the email:
Hello IxDA Portland,
Join us tomorrow evening for a sketching workshop with guest presenters Cecilia Case and George Reiswig.
A major part of the interaction designer’s job is in the ideation and creation portion of the design process. Sandwiched somewhere between user research and high-fidelity prototypes, sketching is a powerful, portable, fast and creative tool to bring to bear for capturing ideas, working through possibilities and communicating to stakeholders. Whether or not you are comfortable with sketching, we hope to encourage active participation while we discuss the creative process, sketching techniques, and an important part of sketching, critique. You will also work on exercises and examples to help you expand your sketching and drawing repertoire. Bring your favorite sketching media!
Everyone is welcome -- designers and non-designers alike.
Tuesday, April 17th: IxDA Portland Sketching Workshop
Where: ISITE Design 2030 NW Pettygrove Street
This is a casual, non-sponsored workshop. Feel free to bring snacks or drinks to share.
We look forward to seeing you there!
