To answer that question, I have to ask you a question.
What do you want to be when you grow up? A researcher or a designer?
Also, for Baltimore is it their HCI program or their program in Information & Interaction Design? (just to clarify).
But since you are really interested in some specific topics, I suggest you look at the fulltime faculty at each institution and look them up. Any education is only as good as the faculty.
To not totally punt on an answer, if I was going I'd pick Indiana University (Bloomington) b/c they have a great mix of academic HCI and design studio curriculum. Depaul is incredibly well respected generally.
Good luck!

Thank you for taking interest in my post!
I am currently in my final year of Bachelor of Engg. in Computers. I have an interest in the HCI components like the psychology involved in designing the UI for smartphones and tablets, since these are the powerful gadgets of present & future too. I would like to be a designer designing and implementing UX solutions for handheld devices. Also I have a liking towards the Augmented Reality/Mixed Reality component, slowly finding its way in mobile devices(I attended the annual conf. ISMAR 2011 at Basel). Next, I like the idea of collaborative efforts and thus CSCW.
Coming to the hardware part, I am interested in the wearable computing part, like for eg. I did an independent research on how to monitor tremors in parkinsons affected patients using iphone's gyroscope.
Summarising all, I am interested in incorporating the said components of HCI in a mobile device.
At UMBC, they have a masters program in Human Centered Computing: http://www.is.umbc.edu/programs/graduate/HCC_MS_program.asp
please tell me if I want to choose one university from my current admits, which one would it be?(Considering my interests)
Also as you mentioned in the previous post, I am waiting for IUB's result.
Please suggest me what to do?
Sorry for a really long post.
Please help me out selecting a university............
Thanks
