Usability Evaluations

Hi all,

I was asked to do my first usability and experience evaluation for a website. This is the first time I have to run everything and some insight will be helpful on how to run the entire process.
But one of my main questions is; how do I present the final evaluation?
Should I create something like this ?

I have a team of other evaluators from different backgrounds.

Is there a site with current practices on usability evaluations? Or any resources?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks. I know this is a broad question.

I'm particularly fond of the Handbook of Usability Testing, 2nd Edition.

But that's partially because I wrote the foreword and know the authors personally.

Even with my personal connections, I'd say that it's one of the best resources for getting started with usability evaluations. I've given it to hundreds of clients and they find it really helpful.

How you report the results of a usability evaluation depends on what you're trying to find out by doing it.

Also, I wonder if you're doing a usability test or a heuristic evaluation (that doesn't include users).

If you're considering doing more of a review than a test where you're observing users interacting with the design you want to evaluate, you might want to read this first:

Either way, I would actually steer you away from writing a report. Instead, include your team in the conversation throughout the evaluation.

Thanks for the replies!

My friend had the Handbook of Usability Testing in her library so I'm picking it up from her and will defninitely take a look, thanks for the suggestion Jared.

Dana, I should have specified in my post, I'm focusing more on doing a heuristic evalutation. Of course, I've been on plenty of time, but I was wondering if there was an outline on organizing and running an evaluation & team.

Thanks again!

Found exactly what I was looking for so I'm going to share it here in case anyone else is looking for it.

This toolkit has everything, I just scrolled down to "Usability Checklists and Heuristic Review" and it had exactly what I needed.
