To kick off 2011, the local IxDA leaders wanted to get the word out about what we can all look forward to in the new year.
Many of you know that Jack Moffett founded Pittsburgh IxDA 5 years ago. He’s spent the past 5 years as the group’s logistical, spiritual, and emotional leader. He capped this off by sitting on the national planning committee for the Interaction 11 Conference which is being held in Boulder on February 9 (http://www.ixda.org/interaction/index.html). After all of this, Jack has decided to take a well deserved rest. Luckily for us, he’ll still join us on the planning committee (phew)!
Stepping in and serving as Pittsburgh IxDA’s co-chair in 2011 will be Bill Bernstein. Bill is a designer at Daedalus and has been an active member of the planning committee. He was responsible for several of last years’ events like the “Musical Interfaces” roundtable and the presentations on “Designing for Medical Devices.”
Please join us in welcoming Bill into his new role! Also thanks to Jack for EVERYTHING that he’s done for this organization. Of course, he’s still going to play a major role in our local group.
As for what’s coming up, keep an eye out in the new year for a workshop on “role play research and prototyping,” as well as the opportunity for local group members to get together to share and discuss their work.
Happy New Year,
Raelynn Miles and Bill Bernstein – IxDA Pittsburgh local co-chairs Jack Moffett, Ian DeJesus, Steve Szak, Jenna Date, Tzu-Wei Powers – local planning committee members Matt Schnauber – local PR chair
