First of all I "found" this perfect group of interface and interaction designers just a few days ago and I'm glad that others are running into the same problems and issues as I do (wireframeing, etc.).
This is my first post and have a maybe new problem. At least for me: we need to generate a font for a black and white display in simplified chinese. I searched the web for some hours and could only find pixelfonts in the size of 11 pixels in height. We would be very happy to have 8 or 9 pixels in height. Does somebody know if such a font exists or does somebody has any experience in gernerating such a font. Could be kinda tricky without any knowledge in chinese.
Kind regards and thanks for any help
Wolfgang

try this software, first you need to have Chinese fonts in your system. When you can see the interface, use the number selectors in left top to change output range, in left button to change position offset, button in right top to choose font, selector beside it to choose font size. Selector in middle to change coding. button in right-button means generate, about and settings from left to right.
I was at an Interactive Mkting agency in Shanghai.
There isn't a way to just downsize the font? (I used to be in the account and client management side).

Thanks Sam and XunYang for your help,
I tried to convert some fonts with the TS2-Tool XunYang suggested. But in 8px size there's not much left of the origin charcter - just a blob of pixels. Maybe 8 pixels is too small. Anyway, the biggest problem will be to check if all characters are still correct in their meaning after scaling them down.
I found an open source project for chinese fonts: http://wenq.org/enindex.cgi (just do not know if it is really simplified chinese or traditional). I have to dive into this materia more in detail, I think.
and a commercial version: http://www.dynalab.com/
Cheers
Wolfgang
PS: any ideas or suggestions for developing or buying small bitmap fonts are still very welcome.
Hi Wolfgang,
The best resource on CJKV information processing is still the book of the same name by Ken Lunde. See CJKV Information Processing for details.
