Hello All -
I applied to a program that fits many of my needs and wants, but I would love to hear what IxDers think of the course of study. I haven't seen the program mentioned in other threads.
It's a 1 year program in Interaction Design (culminating in a M.A.S) at the Swiss university SUPSI. It's aimed at professionals who want to shift careers.

Hi Katie,
Courses offer a great insight to professionals in terms of getting exposed to the subject matter but they do little to help you gain employment in this industry. I suspect this is somewhat of a marketing ploy on behalf of the institution. You'll find it incredibly tough to gain work in this industry once graduated.
You'd be better off spending a year networking and taking some voluntary internships at top design agencies wherever and whenever you can. Or you can do the course and then take voluntary employment. You may be wondering why you wouldn't take a salaried junior position. This is because they are very rare and hard to come by.
The above first option assumes you have some background/understanding of this industry.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Cheers,
Sean
