That's impossible to answer without knowing the context.

Does the user have an expectation of anonymity concerning her/his "real" name?

If not, is there value to others provided by revealing that name? Why might it be undesirable to reveal it?

How will other users view/use the site/application in each case, and which is the preferred behavior?

Is there a use case for allowing the user to choose whether or not to reveal her/his name? Again, how will other users react if only some profiles have "real" names attached?

How "real" are the "real" names? What is the degree of certainty that a profile is legitimately who it claims to be? How important is that?

And so on.
