As I mentioned at tonight's excellent LA-UX meetup with Nate Bolt, we
have a new UX group in town: UPA, the Usability Professionals'
Association. Our first meeting was last week at Cal State Los Angeles.
Membership to the local chapter is free. Our goal is to have about 4
events a year, primarily focused on usability/user research (as opposed
to design) and possibly with a slant towards more experienced
practitioners. We've got a board, but we're certainly interested in
more people to help out with event planning and such. Or if you're
already a national UPA member (or would like to become one), let me know
-- we need 10 national members to have a chapter. And of course, we
always need people to come to events!
If you're interested in more information about our events, visit the
and subscribe to our email list at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thanks, and hope to see you at a future event,
Secretary, LA Chapter of UPA
