Hi:

I'm headed to Raleigh for Wordpcamp Raleigh next weekend. Is there an IxDA group in the Raleigh area? Does anyone have any IA job leads in the Raleigh/Cary area for an intermediate level Information Architect with Product Development and Biz Dev experience? They'd get the combined package!

Please let me know. I would appreciate any connections. I'm considering moving to the area and could use all the help I can get! Thanks!

Best,

Tony Zeoli

I just checked the IxDA list of satellites. Nada in Raleigh. If I move there, maybe I'll start up the first IxDA Raleigh group. Seems like Raleigh isn't a big area for IA and User Experience. Not a lot going on down there. Time to change that, for sure.

Hi Tony,

There isn't an IxDA chapter in the Triangle (aka Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill) but there is an active UPA chapter called Triangle UPA (http://triupa.org). Check out the site for upcoming events and job postings. The site's brand new, so I apologize if it's still a little glitchy :)

I hope you enjoy your trip to Raleigh,

Hi Tony,

I didn't see Jackson's reply, but we do have TriUPA (http://triupa.org/). It gets a lot of good press at our School of Information and Library Science, and I'm willing to bet that if it's not exactly what you're looking for, that someone involved with that group will be able to point you in the right direction.

Hi Matthew, I will check out that resource. One of the reasons I am considering Raleigh or Chapel Hill is the IS program at UNC. I would love to chat more about it. I will contact you off list.

Thanks!

Tony

Hi Tony. Welcome to the Triangle! Jackson has already mentioned TriUPA. As for jobs, it is a smaller market than NY, of course, but things pop open from time to time. Feel free to contact me directly. I'd be happy to introduce you to the area, if nothing else.
