IxDA on Ning

A quick poll for all you members out there. A while ago this group was created on the NING network:

I see many members on the above mentioned here on the official IXDA site. I believe Christian Sosa-Lanz is managing the NING group. So my question is, why the duplicity? Does the NING site serve a unique purpose? Or, like the westside story, are the two fighting for turf (and members?).

Ii guess im just trying to get to the real IXDA source for LA (events, get togethers, etc). Your thoughts.

Hi Henry,

There's no turf war :-)

We started the ning site back when there wasn't functionality on IxDA.org to manage local group events and discussion, but when the new IxDA.org platform rolled out in February with the group management capability we needed, we moved the the group over to the "mothership".

So, to answer your question, the official home of IxDA Los Angeles is here at http://www.ixda.org/local/ixda-los-angeles

By the way, we've sent several messages to everyone on the Ning site letting them know about the move but it must have gotten stuck in your spam filter :-)
