I will like to hear from anyone who has done research on or knows the behavioral pattern of 30-40 year olds and their use of news/stories online. I am particularly interested in how they approach such content, what they do with it (e.g. share with friends), what content are they likely to approach and consume (hot topics, gossips, etc), what form of content (shorts, trailers, long, etc), etc. Hope to hear from you guys because I feel my team is making some wild assumptions based on only two well known facts about this group (30-40yr olds) and that is; they like to share stories with their friends, and they want quick short news. _thanks

Do you have a budget or staff to do user research? sounds like a ripe opportunity and topic.

Have you checked the Pew Internet Life project website? They usually have some good info. Or, check e-marketer.

Or maybe all of us 30 to 40 year-olds in IxDA can respond to the question here? =]
General obsevation about my peers:
Type of content varies widly depending on interests. Observed: news,
sports, parenting, health, home and garden, career-related topics.
Length: many read longer articles, but make good use of digests- I
Sharing: facebook is frequently used for sharing political news, Email
sharing also but only to close friends/family about truly relevant
topics.
