This may be an odd question here, but I figure someone might have had experience with this...

I'm in the process of updating our Investor Relations pages and I'd like to pull in a ticker not unlike that in the upper right corner of: and (this is Edgar-online, from what I can tell, a pay-service).

The issues I'm having are:

  1. We are traded on the Tokyo Stock Exchange (so, Yahoo!'s module won't work)
  2. I'd like to keep it to only our ticker and not one that searches the entire world of stocks.
  3. We're cheap: would like it to be free
  4. Would like to be able to control colors/fonts, etc.

So, any ideas? thanks in advance!

Google Finance has an API that might be helpful for you guys. In fact, I believe their "financial gadgets" may handle what you want to do without requiring much coding -- I haven't had a chance to investigate these closely, though, so of course there may be catches of which I'm not aware.

Here's a free Silverlight version on Codeplex - The Marketmanager object returns fake stock info, so you can definitely customize to return yours.  Also, being XAML, it's completely customizable.

Here's a simple, free Javascript ticker.  You'll have to wire up your own data source, but I'm assuming that's what you want.

I found a few examples in Flash as well, but really, the Javascript or Silverlight versions are all you're going to need.

I would suggest you to contact webmasters of websites with TSE tickers and ask them how they implemented their TSE informers.
