How does a company build user-centered design (UCD) into the way they do
business? Come find out about the elements of a successful and strategic
corporate usability program and how to build it. Learn about the 5 stage
model of UCD evolution. Consider how your organization stacks up and discuss
how to move it forward. Find out how to start the ball rolling with the
staff you have; bring in outside help, or move from a collection of
departmental success stories to a company wide process.

Joining us are two initiators of successful corporate processes, Drew Falk
from Human Factors International (HFI), an international, user-centered
design consultancy, and David Teller from ADP, an $8-Billion S&P 500 company
best known for its transaction processing. ADP’s website states that it pays
“1 in 6 private sector workers in the US.”

Drew Falk, MS, works for Human Factors International (HFI,
http://www.humanfactors.com) as a project director. For the past 12 years,
he has planned and led usability projects in North America and Europe. He
also teaches HFI's courses on User-Centered Design, and Usability Testing.
Prior to HFI, Drew consulted on strategic systems planning and systems
analysis.

David Teller is a project leader in the Usability Test Group at ADP
(http://www.adp.com) where he manages and performs usability testing on
web-based applications. David graduated from the College of New Jersey in
1983 with a BS in Electronic Engineering Technology and became a Certified
Usability Analyst in 2005. Before entering into the usability field in 1998,
he had been a technical writer for 16+ years. Prior to joining ADP, David
worked as a usability manager for large telecommunications company in New
Jersey where he instituted User Centered Design into their software
development process.
