NYC Usability Professionals Association presents:

Paper Prototyping: Why, When and How-To
Speaker: Todd Warfel, Partner with MessageFirst, a Philadelphia-based design
and usability firm.
Sponsored by: Sachs Insights http://www.sachsinsights.com

Date: Tuesday, February 21, 2006
Registration: 6:00pm (refreshments served)
Presentation: 6:30pm to 8:00pm (includes Q&A)
Networking: 8:00pm to 8:30pm
Dinner at a nearby restaurant: 8:30pm to whenever (participants pay for
their own dinner)

Location: Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies, Laura Parsons Pratt
Conference Center, 281 Park Avenue South (at 22nd Street).

Todd Warfel, a partner with Message First, a Philadelphia-based design and
usability firm, will discuss and teach you how to create and test paper
prototypes. This is a session for all levels of experience--beginner to old
hand.

Mistakes and oversights during the design and development phases can be
costly, if not detrimental to a business. Catch them before you launch with
paper prototyping.

If you feel like you already know "paper prototyping," then you should still
attend. We'll have a brief introduction, discuss the strengths, weaknesses,
when prototypes are appropriate, and what to expect from them. By the time
you leave, you'll be equipped to create and use paper prototypes for your
own projects. This presentation will teach participants a framework for
creating and testing paper prototypes.

At the close of the presentation, you'll see the real world design we've
created using these techniques for a next generation VoIP product for a
national telecom. We'll discuss the techniques we used and show you how we
used paper prototyping and testing to create a design with a measurable
improvement over the original design.
