Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this list. I'm currently employed as a Requirements Analyst at
Welch Allyn and am interested in educating myself on interactive design /
HCI / etc. Does anyone have suggestions for academic programs either
online or in the central New York area?

Conferences and workshops would also be of interest.

Thanks!

Funny you should mention it...

It's not central New York, but my colleagues Peter Merholz and Jeff
Veen will be in NYC at the end of October to present Adaptive Path's
two-day workshop Beyond Usability: Designing the Complete User
Experience. This material has been rewritten for 2005, and includes
new content on the business value of user experience, new approaches
to user research, writing for the screen, and web team organization.

Please feel free to use, or pass along to friends, colleagues, or
clients my 15% discount promotional code: FODS. If your friends or
colleagues register for the workshop, tell them to let us know during
registration and we'll buy you an iTunes album to thank you for the
referral.

More info on the NYC workshop can be found at:

And we've also announced two additional events:

November 7, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
The Elements of User Experience
with Jesse James Garrett

December 8, Chicago, Illinois
Designing and Building with Ajax

Aside from this, the IxDG library has some education resources:
