the impact of design on business.
The UK Design Business Association have annual Design Effectiveness Awards
(http://www.dba.org.uk/awards/intro.asp) which use "commercial data as a key
judging criteria".
You may be aware of the Design Management Institute (http://www.dmi.org)
which "seeks to heighten awareness of design as an essential part of
business strategy". They have a journal and various case-studies available.
