"Doing More With Less: Sharing Tales of Guerilla IxD"

We're getting an enthusiastic response to this open, community-based
discussion focused on the art of doing good interaction design during
challenging times, to be moderated by IxDA Board President Joshua Seiden.

Have you registered to attend? http://tinyurl.com/IxDAJan09

The event is free of charge and open to all interested parties. However, for
security reasons, only those on the guest list will be admitted. Please
bring photo ID.

NEW PARTNER: AQUENT
We're delighted to announce that Aquent is partnering with IxDA and will be
providing refreshments for the evening, so our community won't have to "do
more with less" (at least in terms of sustenance) in these lean economic
times. IxDA local events are very much about connecting the interaction
design community face-to-face; we're pleased to welcome Aquent to the
conversation.

Aquent is the world's leading design and marketing staffing agency. We match
professionals with freelance, contract, try-before-you-hire, and full-time
job opportunities at top organizations. Aquent has 72 offices in 17
countries with over 13,500 professionals working at more than 3,000
companies. We work with some of the top advertising and interactive agencies
as well as two-thirds of the Fortune 500 and 90 of the Fortune 100.
Throughout our history we've made over half a million matches between our
clients and talent. Aquent is privately held and headquartered in Boston,
Massachusetts and our New York office is located on 5th Avenue between 21st
and 22nd Streets.

YES! LIVE STREAMING
We're planning to stream the event so if you live outside of NYC or cannot
make it in person, watch www.ixda.org for viewing details just before our
start time. We'd like to incorporate comments and questions from the remote
community as well. We look forward to your participation!

WHEN
Thursday, January 29, 2009
6:30 - 7:00 p.m. Networking and refreshments by Aquent
7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Discussion
Please plan to arrive by 7:00 p.m. as the security desk will close at that
time

ABOUT IxDA
The Interaction Design Association (http://www.ixda.org) is a
member-supported organization committed to serving the needs of the
international interaction design community. With the help of more than
10,000 members worldwide, we provide a network for advancing the discipline
of interaction design. IxDA was founded in 2003 as an online discussion list
and in just five years the organization has grown to include over 60 local

interaction designers.

As one of the largest local groups, IxDA NYC produces monthly face-to-face
events for Interaction Design and User Experience professionals who create

IxDA NYC thanks the local community for coming out in force and
participating in a thoughtful, content-rich "doing more with less"
discussion this evening.

We sincerely regret that, due to last-minute difficulties, our plans
to stream the event had to be abandoned. Our apologies to those of
you in the extended community who had planned to participate via Web.

Our warmest appreciation goes to Liquidnet for providing meeting
space and to Aquent for providing refreshments.

Last but not least, kudos to the volunteer NYC Local Leaders (some of
whom are IxDA Board Members) who helped to make this event possible:
Joshua Seiden, Nasir Barday, David Fine, Peter March, Lisa Lurie,
John Labriola, Bill Caemmerer, and MJ Broadbent.

See you next time!
