As the world's leading Software Company, Microsoft has pioneered many of the technology innovations that paved the way for the digital information revolution. With products ranging from the Windows operating systems to the Office productivity suite, the Visual Studio suite of developers tools, and the Xbox 360 video game platform, and a broad range of new offerings in high-growth areas including Web-based services, unified communications, search, advertising and much more, Microsoft continues to be the worldwide leader in helping people and businesses realize their full potential.

Group:

The Windows Client group is a $15B per year business. How do we drive significant revenue growth in excess of PC Market growth? According to CEO Steve Ballmer, it is "software + services", in his words that are "our most important long term opportunity." If you are a strategic thinker interested in being part of the transformation of the Windows Client Business, then come and join our team because this job is a great opportunity for you!

The One Your Mother Always Wished You End Up With

Well established professional, tired of the dating scene, seeks to make a love connection with a Design Leader.

Me - a SAWOSWABHABD (Successful and Worldly Operating System with a Big Heart and Bigger Dreams) looking to develop a LTR (Long term relationship) that takes us both to great new heights.

You - a PDDBDMIABD (Product Designer Driven by Deep Meaningful Impact and Beautiful Design) that is ready to change the world of computing by designing an operating system that people love. You know, like that irrational, irresponsible, indefinable kind of love that you had for your first bike.

Me - I'm an old soul with a fresh perspective.

You - You're an idealist with an eye for perfection and a desire to go deep in solving the big hard problems.

Me - I'm committed to self-improvement and being the best I can be. Sometimes I just need some help along the way knowing where to focus in keeping pace with this ever changing world. I have big ideas, but I'll need your help to make them happen.

You - A seasoned Design Leader with proven track record of delivering great software user experiences. You are considered a star. Your parents don't really understand what you do, but they are impressed. You have a big bag of experiences and want to push yourself to greater challenges.

Me - I'm the Windows User Experience team. In a partnership with other product development disciplines, I design, build and ship beautiful, successful and outstanding user experiences to hundreds of millions of users around this big blue-green marble. I have a ton of fun and take my role very seriously. Want to make a Love connection?

I'd love to hear from you.

The Microsoft Windows User Experience team is seeking exceptional User Experience Lead to make the personal computer more powerful, engaging, and rewarding to use. We're looking for a design leader, someone who can invent, drive and inspire great design. We want a leader who has the vision, skills and intelligence to influence the course of the world's most used products - Windows and Internet Explorer. You'll be working with the best developers, designers and UX researchers dedicated to revolutionizing software interaction design. You need to love software, and exude passion for great design.

As a UX Lead, you will help set the vision for the user experience, serving as a user advocate to ensure the highest level of usability, desirability and customer satisfaction. You will design and prototype product experiences that meet demanding quality standards. You will drive your work through the software development process. You will collaborate with teams across the company to ensure we maintain industry leadership, delivering innovative, exciting and emotionally engaging products.

Qualifications include a 4-year degree in industrial design, interaction design, or related field, plus 5-7 years of industry experience developing software products for large markets. Industry experience in developing software or web products for large markets is preferred. We like to see a proven ability to articulate ideas through high fidelity prototypes. You should be an excellent communicator, presenter, and show experience applying user research throughout the design process. You like to look under the hood and aren't afraid to dabble with AJAX, CSS, C# or other scripting languages. Expert knowledge of major multimedia, design, and operating system software (Photoshop, Flash or Director, Windows, Office) is expected.
This is an opportunity to reinvent how people interact with computers, to turn new technology into positive user experiences, and to deliver a product that reaches millions of customers. If you are inspired by these plans, then this is the team for you.
