*Title: User Experience Manager*
*Location: San Francisco*
*Compensation: mid to high 100's + generous bonus* + possible relocation
assistance

Are you interested in helping a booming, well known, consumer site
deliver an end-to-end innovative experience with the redesign of their
site? Does driving research and design that will define how people
interact with and relate to a complex site inspire you? This could be
your ideal role. The company is seeking a User Experience Manager to
manage all aspects of the UE team. The UE Manager is responsible and
accountable for user experience strategy, management and alignment to
business and technical partners within the department and the company.
In addition, the UE Manager provides creative leadership, career
development and mentoring for 6-10 team members, creates and enforces
budgets, schedules, group policies and procedures (including group and
individual annual goals). You will work as a core member of the
leadership team to create a great user experience through design and
research, spending 30% of your time on your own projects.

*Responsibilities:*
* Establish the overall strategy and approach for user experience
planning, best practices, standards, guidelines and processes for the
company's Internet properties and specified internal software applications
* Structure, maintain and deliver consistent user experience across all
areas of all the company's Internet properties
* Exceed partner objectives and expectations on project assignments,
while maintaining user experience site experience objectives
* Evaluate the scope of projects, making assessments about the efforts
required from the UE team
* Provide mentoring, day-to-day feedback, problem-solving assistance,
performance reviews and goal setting documentation of direct reports
* Help guide the UE team to successfully deliver on the Internet
Channel's strategies and objectives
* Work strategically to identify user-experience consistency issues and
provide solutions that contribute to the company's overall Internet
Channel goals

*Requirements:*
* 10 or more years of professional design experience with Web and/or
software design for a variety of clients/companies, including about four
years of experience managing or leading design professionals
* Expert command of one of the following user experience disciplines:
Usability, Editorial, Visual Design, or Interaction Design/Information
Architecture
* Demonstrated understanding of how to create and maintain scalable and
consistent Web-based applications
* Demonstrated experience and successful leadership of multi-functional
user experience team(s)
* Excellent writing and verbal skills; strong communication skills in
one-on-one, large audience and executive team situations
* Bachelor's degree in graphic design, interaction/digital design, or
other communications design-related field (or equivalent experience)
