ADMIN: trimming addresses

I know you have to hit "reply-all" to send messages to the list. But that
doesn't mean that you have to leave the list of addressees in tact. I mean,
if it is going to list do you have to send it directly to the respondant?
(the question is rhetorical).

Anyway, since people always ask, the reason for the request is that the
number of addressees tends to snowball on longer threads, and the mailman
software has a limit of the # of addressees that you are allowed to have in
a message sent to the list, to prevent people from spamming us. You can't
BCC us either.

Anyway, everytime this happens I get pinged and have to do unnecessary work
that could have been prevented.

As an FYI, To: and CC: are treated the same by the list.
