I'm a UX-geared recruiter/owner of my own interactive talent agency, The

Role overview:

** Be a highly-visible member of flat-hierarchial 500+ person company

** Must have experience doing hands-on UX work for complex applications
including surveys, dynamic onscreen documents, or related online products

** Key member of small, agile 4 person team---no management experience
necessary

More about the Senior User Experience Designer role, from the client:

We are defining a new market and we are looking for an innovative Sr User
Experience Designer to help us create an entirely new experience. A leading
provider in online marketing research products and technology, we are now
defining a new Customer Insight Management (CIM) market. We believe great
user experience design is critical to our success, and you will play a key
strategic role in creating the world's leading Research 2.0 product
platform. In this highly visible role, you will apply your passion and
expertise in user-centric design methodology and application interaction
design to create compelling, valuable and highly usable experiences. You
thrive in a high ownership, collaborative, entrepreneurial environment,
where you take on a domain leadership role in designing our next generation
platform user experience.

Responsibilities:

. Collaborate on cross-functional design teams comprised of domain
experts in marketing research, web 2.0 technology, and communities
management.

. Apply user-centered design processes to create award winning user
experiences for web-based applications. Bkgd in survey creation/document
flows is highly regarded!

. Design interaction models, workflows and information
architectures.

. Produce user interface specifications, wireframes, and sitemaps.

. Create visual user interface designs

Qualifications:

. BS/BA or MS/MFA degree in Graphic Design, Human Factors,
Cognitive Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction or equivalent work
experience.

. 3+ years of experience creating interaction designs for Web
applications.

. Solid understanding of UCD principles and interaction design
skills.

. Strong visual/graphical interface design skills.

. Ability to work collaboratively with other designers and team
members, cross-functional domain experts and other stakeholders; receptive
to feedback and direction from others.

. Strong detail orientation, and an obsession for accuracy and
consistency.

. Clear, organized written and oral communication and presentation
skills.

. Excellent analytical skills.

. Understanding of underlying technical concepts.

. Expert knowledge of the use of Photoshop, Fireworks, and/or
Illustrator.

. Ability to provide portfolio examples of relevant interaction
design work.

I think most of you on the list know that I can be a little harsh when it
comes to recruiters. I find trashing less-than-bright, annoying or clueless
recruiters a joie de vivre, and have posted as such on the list. There is an
exception, however.

I know Joanne, and she is good. Very good - and she focuses on our industry
- on people like us, from IA to IxD to UI design.

I have to agree with Will. I know her too, and she really is focused
on our industry. She is one of the few diamonds among the recruiting
world!
