Lead Interaction Designer

The Lead Interaction Designer at Digitas takes a dynamic part in
creation of interactive experience design and advertising experiences
from a conceptual standpoint, working as partner on a creative team
along side Copywriters, Art Directors and Designers. This person works
closely with a Creative Director and peers of different disciplines
within the agency to produce jaw-dropping creative work that bonds
consumers to brands and gives them a voice in the brand experience.

The optimal candidate will be well versed in the underlying ideas behind
Web 2.0, while being grounded in the fundamentals of usability. Please
have balanced Interaction Design skills (IA and UI), visual design
sensibilities and an understanding of how all disciplines must exist
together to create experience design solutions.

This person will work closely with the creative team, marketing
strategists and account planning to develop customer research and
insights that drive the ideas within the work. Think social engagement,
distributed application and content development and using marketing as a
service rather than a bland sales tactic.

Additional Responsibilities:
* Willing to understand a client's business, brand and marketing
objectives, proactively contributing to it's evolution and success
* Team with writers and art directors to develop next-generation
interactive experiences
* Maintain high standards for design artifacts, including
wireframes, architecture diagrams and prototypes
* Understands and can develop or extend personas and scenarios for
a given user population based on either primary or secondary research
* Takes lead with the technology teams to identify required
platforms and systems to bring the experience to life, and documents the
requirements for the technology teams in a standardized set of documents
(presentation, technical, functional or temporal)
* Know what advanced technology can do, and recommend where to use
* Work closely with Designers and Software Engineers from the
Chicago Powerhouse from the standpoint of problem solving and execution

Required Skills/Background:
* Insatiable curiosity, excited by design and technology
* Excited about the evolution of experience design on the web and
where it could lead
* Strong conceptual design with an emphasis on experience design,
having a degree in, or training in human factors, human computer
interface design, environmental or architectural design or another new
media discipline. Optimal candidates will have at least five years
experience in one of the following areas: Product design, interactive
agency, design studio other collaborative design team
* Experience in an agency environment, with good presentation
skills a plus
* Knowledge of current rich media technologies, particularly Flash
8, to produce work that is both seamless and beautiful
* Enjoys and supports working on a team
* Superior communication skills, organized and understands time
