Last night's IA Summit Redux in NYC was lots of fun. It was great to
meet so many user experience people right here in New York. I don't
think I've been to a bigger UX event in New York, ever -- which is a
testament, I think, to the fractured nature of the NYC UX scene.

(I'd estimate there are at least 500-1000 professionals working in the
IA/ID/UXD fields in NYC, but I've never seen more than a dozen or so of
them at any national conferences.)

Anyway, a few people asked me last night for references or a reading
list from my Style presentation. I've posted a thorough bibliography,
and the slides themselves, here:

This meeting was a great opportunity to see who else in UX and what
types of companies they work for. My favorite presentation was the
last one about interaction style(s) which have yet to be defined in
periods like other discliplines such as fashion or typography.

The space which held the meeting was very pleasant and open..
refreshing actually.

Deneva and others,
For those that couldn't be at the redux, Chris (the IxD and Style
talk Deneva mentions above) next week as previously announced on this
list (http://beta.ixda.org/discuss.php?post=18226).

There are already 90 people who have RSVPed for this event. It should
be a big event for the summer.

Also, IxDA NYC uses corporate spaces like Razorfish, Frog Design, JP
Morgan Chase, LiquidNet, and not so corporate spaces like the Brand
Experience Lab. If you are in NYC and represent a company that can
hold 50 or so people, please contact me so we can discuss next
"season's" events. We love moving from place to place and it is a
great opportunity for people to see how "the other half" lives.

Other communities like SF, Silicon Valley, Stockholm, Portland, etc.
are always looking for good space, so don't be shy if you live there
and got space, go to our local groups page and contact local leaders
there (http://beta.ixda.org/members.php)

Ok, enough of that.
