Presently we are seeking candidates for a Senior Web Designer to
strategize, create and design the user experience for ASAP?s eCommerce
websites and applications. This individual is also responsible for
providing website, eCommerice and ASAP Intranet graphic design, navigation
design, and ongoing support.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Create consistent information hierarchies for site navigation on both a
system-wide level and a page-by-page or screen-by-screen level, while
adhering to design uniformity within and across projects.
2. Develop detailed navigation flows, site maps, wireframes and interface
design/ functional specifications that capture site processes and all user
interaction points with the system.
3. Organize large bodies of information for domestic and international
eCommerce sites.
4. Provide usability guidance and support during development process and
on an ongoing basis.
5. Lead user-centered design and customer experience activities. Educate
and serve as a resource for functionality best practices.
? Analyze user needs and define strategies for meeting them.
? Ability to interface and interact with internal and external groups to
gauge requirements on various initiatives and translate into information
architecture and interaction design schematics.
? Ability to work with design and technical teams in a collaborative,
dynamic environment.
? Conduct research or work on internal projects as needed.
? 6. Assist in long term planning of online projects, consisting of:
? Project development
? Creating and refining project business rules
? Beta testing and troubleshooting
? Project roll-in
7. Provide design direction for third party design firm

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Solid background with the web and web technologies including a basic
understanding of the technical systems and architecture which underlie
dynamic websites.
2. Excellent visual/ verbal communicator with a demonstrated strong
creative vision for organizing interactive information systems.
3. Knowledge of and comfortable with the following IA toolkit and design
programs such as InDesign, Visio, DreamWeaver, GoLive, Microsoft office,
Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, plus Axure, Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark
(for PC) or Pagemaker. Basic understanding and appreciation of how the
following programming languages affect site interaction: ASP, .xml,
JavaScript, .Net, VB Script and AJAX. Basic understanding of Content
Management Systems, Visual Studio, .NET, SQL, IIS, and SMTP.
4. Strong human factors and usability analysis skills as well as ability
to profile user patterns for site usage.
5. Extremely detail-oriented, flexible and able to work in a fast-paced,
demanding environment with aggressive development schedules.
6. Familiar with Website tracking and other analytics tools; ability to
recommend and implement changes basic on analytics in site.
7. Portfolio presentation is expected, to include URLs of websites or
samples of user interface design that reflect candidate?s work as well as
documentation that led to the site, including wireframes, site maps,
navigation flows, interaction design specs, etc.
8. Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Marketing
or Graphic Design or equivalent training.
9. At least five years of experience in a business setting.
