Close all tabs? (was Confirmation dialogs - the devil himself, or a necessary evil?)

Interestingly, when Firefox restores tabs it does so with browsing
history intact, but this seems to work only when Firefox was shut down
precipitously. Quitting with a bunch of tabs open doesn't seem to
include an option to resume those tabs on the next session (unless
I've missed it). So I end up forcing Firefox to quit sometimes when I
need to restart my system or deal with memory leaks, in order to
obtain the tab-restore beneit.

You have missed it. :) Options -> Main -> When Firefox Starts: Show my
windows and tabs from last time.
