We are looking for information architects with 3+ years information
architecture and interface design expertise for long-term contract and
direct hire opportunities in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our ideal
candidate possesses a strong understanding of user-centered design
processes and can effectively translate business and user requirements
into compelling conceptual designs, structural architectures and
functional specifications for consumer and business websites. The
information architect will serve as the information and interaction
design expert on projects ensuring that the most effective, innovative
solutions are used.

To be considered for these opportunities, your experience must match the
requirements below and please be:
* Local to the San Francisco Bay Area (relocation assistance is not
* Authorized to work for any US employer without sponsorship
* Available to work on-site at our client's offices

* Gather requirements to determine target audience and objectives;
analyze user and business needs; and set scope and interface strategies
* Develop application maps, process flows, wireframes and mock-ups with
accompanying interaction rules based on a synthesis of user needs,
technical restrictions and business goals
* Translate business requirements into intuitive interface solutions
* Participate in user research/usability testing (as needed or
* Maintain a thorough understanding of back-end systems and capabilities

* Collaborate with program, product, and project managers and as well as
senior level strategists to define and prioritize new projects

* 3+ years experience user interface/interaction design, HCI or
equivalent experience with user centered design methods including task
analysis and user scenarios
* A comprehensive portfolio of user process flows, site maps and
* Proficient in creating business case presentations, prototyping tools,
flowcharting, and writing usability reports
* Proficient in interpreting usability data, common site metrics and
statistical analysis skills
* Expertise in user research and usability testing
* Ability to ask appropriate questions and communicate effectively and
persuasively to convey design solutions to a broad range of
stakeholders: product managers, designers, engineers, customers, etc.
* Knowledge of user experience best practices
* Strong attention to detail and exceptional organization, logic and
analytical skills
* Solid proficiency in a variety of design and prototyping tools such as
Visio, Flash
* Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Psychology, Human Factors, Fine
Arts or related field; advanced degree a plus

Desired skills
* Understanding of HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash
* Experience with CMS
* Familiarity with Ajax interactions/patterns
* Familiarity with presentation layer code/working knowledge of
application layer design
* Familiarity with user research/usability testing
* Graphic design experience
