On the topic of Ontario IxDA group, is there any kind of group currently
active in Ottawa? There appears to be an email address and a name listed
somewhere on the IxDA site but it doesn't seems to have been updated in
maybe 2 years.

Thanks,
Taneem Talukdar (in Ottawa)

Actually, if you look at the site now (ixda.org) there is no reference
to Ottawa. No activity has occurred there for quite some time and we
are updating the city list to those cities where someone is really
doing work, or they told me personally they want to be a
representative for IxDA there until they can forge something.

So Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton (Places,
I'm pretty sure we have list members at in Canada) are all open for
anyone to start a group.

Further for EVERYONE, if you see a city listed but don't like
what's going on, it isn't active enough or at all, or for whatever
reason, all the cities can use new energy all the time. That goes for
places with activity like SF/Silicon Valey, SF City, NYC, etc.

Also, if you see your city has disappeared from our list and you
disagree shoot myself a line and lets discuss how to get you back on
the tote board so to speak.

Cities that should have activity in my opinion but don't:

London
Amsterdam
Milan/Torino
Chicago
Los Angeles
Sydney
Mumbai/Bombay
Bangalore
Tokyo
Seoul
Beijing
Singapore
Madrid
Barcelona
Sao Paolo
Helsinki
Copenhagen
Oslo
Denver
Seattle

Omission is just oversight on my part. These are just places I know
we have a chunk of members on the list and feel have enough of a
center of technology activity to support a group of some size.
