The Windows Server Management Experience (WSMX) team is looking for a
strong designer who is passionate about interaction design, interested
in technology, and has experience in user experience design. WSMX is a
group of design and usability professionals whose goal is to provide
easy, effective, and powerful tools for managing Windows Server.

As a User Experience Designer you will be responsible for defining and
delivering user experiences for a new scripting language, PowerShell,
and its associated tools. You will also be responsible for providing
designs for a new database which will be used to search and view various
aspects of our users’ goals, knowledge, and behaviors.

You will work with program managers, developers, and user experience
researchers to ensure Windows Server has a polished visual design that
is compelling to our customers.

You will become an expert on how IT Pros use and manage the Windows
Server technologies you support. This position requires someone who has
passion for technology!

Qualifications:
• The candidate should have excellent written and oral communication
skills as well as the ability to make effective group presentations.
• High degree of proficiency in rapid interaction design and interactive
prototyping.
• Ability to drive design activities and deliverables throughout the
development cycle.
• Highly proficient in one or more visual design tools (e.g., Photoshop,
Illustrator, Fireworks, etc.)
• Experience working with User Experience Researchers and integrating
user research throughout the design process.
• Strong visual design skills.
• Design or design-related academic credentials are preferred but not
required.
• An advanced degree in HCI, psychology, human factors (HF engineering
OR HF psychology), or industrial engineering are preferred but not
required.
• 4+ years industry experience shipping software products or web
services
• Technical knowledge of computer programming, server administration, or
networking is desirable but not required.
• Knowledge of server administration, or networking is desirable but not
required.
• Online portfolio required.
