Hi
I'm a big fan of Linkedin's navigation. I find it really easy and helpful.
However some of my colleagues find it really confusing.
In what ways can it be better? Has anyone faced a problem that really
irritated them? Is there a better way of doing the IA?
Cheers,
Soo

I'm an "experienced" user of linkedin too... but don't know too much
about the interaction design.

Anyway what I have to say is that probably the interaction can be better
if it adopts ajax ... it gives a faster response and do not "change" the
page (disorienting the user) where not needed

I like the idea of "degrees away from you", however for the rest, I think
Navigation can be improved:

1. Clicking on Company name bring all people listed in Linkedin for the same
company. I understand the reason why they do this, but I following issue -
the expected behavior (for me) is to go to company's site. I have not faced
a scenario where I reached a person's page and want to see who else is int
he company. The focus is person and not company for me.

2. They also of lots happening, this could be simplified. For e.e.g on a
person's profile page. there are two buttons - Contact Directly and Get
introduced, but the person who is in your network and will be the channel
for the introduction is listed under an advertisement section under these
buttons

More such improvement areas are there, will write up some other time.
