I recently saw a demo of the New Longhorn OS. It was more polished than
XP, which still reminds me of Fisher Price for some reason. MS was
running the demo of LH against XP launching several videos
simultaneously. At four videos, XP crapped out. LH was able to handle
the four videos albeit a bit sluggish. But they also had Quake running
in the background, which refuse to respond after the fourth video was
launched - it's still in alpha though, so you can't expect it to be

I'm not so sure it will shake the run under OS X in 2006 or whenever it
launches, as that's still two years off and gives Apple plenty of time
to innovate. However, if LH does shake the rug, that would be exciting
- you gotta love competition ;).

In theory, theory and practice are the same.
In practice, they are not.
