About this position

Anthro-Tech is looking for a dynamic team-member to work closely with
government agencies, non-profit organizations and private companies to help
them bring usability and user-centered design into their processes. You'll
be collaborating with business, communications, development and design teams
to create highly useful and usable products and interactions.

As a senior level consultant, you will be expected to deliver a high level
of attention to several clients simultaneously. In any week, you may have a
variety of responsibilities that could include the following sample
activities:

.Meeting with a new client in Bellevue who is just starting a project to
strategize and plan deliverables

.Facilitating a usability study in a research lab in Seattle

.Editing and providing feedback to a client on a draft project report

.Presenting the results of a project to a group of executive stakeholders in
Olympia

.Teaching a workshop on usability testing in Seattle

.Meeting with or joining a conference call with other Anthro-Tech
consultants to strategize on several projects

Skills

Excellent collaboration, communication and listening skills are critical as
are proficiencies in various user-centered design and user research
techniques. You'll lead teams through all phases of the UCD process,
including requirements analysis, user research, iterative prototyping and
testing for web sites, web applications, software and other communication
products.

Responsibilities

.Conduct requirements analysis with clients and stakeholders to understand
and document business goals

.Conduct, synthesize and report user research from both qualitative and
quantitative sources

.Create and collaborate on conceptual user interface designs including
information architecture, and low through high fidelity prototypes

.Conduct usability evaluations of products and designs

.Advocate for user needs and goals throughout the design process

.Teach and train user-centered design methods and practices through
one-on-one mentoring, presentations, interactive workshops, and formal
classroom training.

Scheduling & travel

.Regional travel approximately 1 to 3 days a week. During these days you'll
work on site with clients. During other days you'll be able to work from
home and collaborate with Anthro-Tech staff and client team members
virtually.

.Flexible schedule and working hours however, reliability and dedication are
key.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

.Significant professional experience in user-centered design and user
experience research.

.The empathy and sophistication to view problems and issues through
different lenses.

.A Masters degree in Technical Communication, Human Computer Interaction or
related discipline from a major accredited college or university OR
compelling work experiences

.Proficiency in a variety of user research techniques such as server and
search log analysis, surveys, contextual inquiry, interviews, stakeholder
assessments and persona and scenario development

.Direct experience in a variety of evaluation techniques such as usability
testing, cognitive walkthroughs, and heuristic evaluations

.Excellent communication and listening skills - write, speak and present
information effectively, persuasively and confidently in a variety of
communication settings

.A desire to work collaboratively in teams and ability to meld your
expertise with that of other team members

.A deep understanding of and commitment to user-centered design principles &
methods

.Strong project management and coordination skills with the ability to
handle multiple projects simultaneously
