The User-Centered Design Team at MITRE's Center for Information and
Technology is seeking a well-rounded interaction designer to
participate in a wide range of projects. Most of our work deals with
internal clients, so you will have a unique opportunity to be close to
your user community. In addition, you will enjoy a top-notch workplace

Key Functions:
Design the user interface and specifications for web-based products
(for MITRE's intranet, public server, or extranet environments)
producing: analysis, human interface design and mockups, user
interface coding and testing. Work directly with the user community
for requirements definition and with technical team members to
design/develop solutions. Perform analysis for projects and identify
implementation constraints and strategies. Assist and/or lead user
interface development and documentation for applications.

Requirements:
- BS or equivalent and 1 year experience or MS or equivalent

Desired Education/Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology or
equivalent degree (Masters Degree strongly preferred)
- 2 years of user interface design experience with web-based technologies
- Strong background in technical writing
- Familiarity with web technologies (JAVA, Javascript, XML, XSL, CSS)
- Strong HTML, CSS, drawing tool (e.g., Adobe Photoshop) skills required

Desired Skills:
- UI design, including graphical design (mockups)
- HTML/CSS encoding of final UI designs
- Survey design and analysis
- Usability testing (full and discount)
- Technical documentation of requirements, designs, usability studies, analysis
