Club Med spearheaded its recent site redesign by conducting a competitive
comparison with the Beaches resort web site. They brought in Keynote
Systems, who used their quantitative/qualitative customer research
application. The study aimed to reveal the relative strengths and weaknesses
of the sites to deliver a Club Med redesign with an increased online
conversion rate and overall performance.

Carol Farnsworth of Keynote Systems will present a case study detailing a
competitive comparison study between two resort web sites.

The goals of the research were two-fold: 1) understand relative strengths
and weaknesses of Club Med vs. Beaches sites and 2) leverage findings to
improve Club Med site and increase online conversion rate.

Farnsworth will show the tasks and evaluation script used in the project,
the participant experience while completing the evaluation, and the online
reporting tool that prepared the data for analysis.

About the speaker:

Carol Farnsworth is Director of Licensing & Partnerships at Keynote Systems,
Inc. (www.keynote.com).

Prior to joining Keynote, Carol taught usability methods and testing courses
at Stanford University and served as a faculty member in the University's
Information/Web Technology department. In addition to her customer
experience management expertise, she has managed the user experience for a
number of software and Web applications for CTB McGraw-Hill, Stanford
University, and Noosh. She holds professional affiliations with the
Usability Professionals Association, Bay CHI, and the Society for Technical
Communication and the ACM. She holds a BA in Sociology and Psychology from
Denver University and a Masters in Educational Pshychology from Catholic
University in Washington D.C.
