are seeking a product-focused Art Director. The Art
Director at WebTrends is responsible for driving, developing and delivering a
design style that reflects the organization’s goals, objectives and identity
coupled with a strong sense of aesthetics and usability. The incumbent provides
graphic and visual direction and innovation for all WebTrends software products
– both Web-based and desktop applications.
Essential Job Functions:
Software UI art
direction and design:
create and design award winning creative solutions Develop layouts for visual style, functional
controls and information display for WebTrends products. The incumbent
owns and drives the product design style guide and graphic treatments.
Work with user experience, product and engineering teams to present visual
concepts, validate approaches and assemble templates and graphics assets.
Develop and maintain documentation of
processes.Work closely with user interface designers and
usability engineers to continually improve the software presentation layer
through constant and consistent feedbackDefine, maintain and evangelize a product
style guideInteract closely with other corporate teams to
ensure brand cohesionBecome the primary point of contact for all
visual implementation questions and decisions

Leadership is critical. You must be a thinker,
innovator and initiative-taker. You must challenge yourself and us to
create the best solutions.Minimum of 5 years experience in software or
Web design as an Art Director. Experience working with product management, marketing
and branding divisions in large companiesExpert familiarity with visual design process
(presentations: concepts, comps, final) and visual design principles
especially related to software product designAbility and enthusiasm for hands-on execution,
design through production with a drive to innovateExpert with Photoshop, Illustrator, and other
professional design tools - Familiarity with all tools and platforms
specializing in web and software design. Flash knowledge a big plus.Familiarity
technologies and how they’re usedAbility to manage multiple projects in a
fast-paced environment.Effectively manage outsourced producers in a
positive, proactive manner.Creative problem solving that drives business
value.Proven ability to analyze complex
requirements.Highly-organized and detail oriented.
is an individual contributor position reporting to the Manager of User
Experience however it may expand into a managerial role of internal and
degree in design, communications or related experience required.
This position is mostly an internal facing position. Ability to interact and complete projects
with marketing, sales and engineering departments required. Ability to present
to executives at all levels of the company.
This position is located in a high rise in downtown Portland. A limited amount of travel may be required.
