This month we’re discussing Lean UX, the latest technique to get UX
teams and Agile teams working together effectively. Inspired by Agile
development, Lean adopts the idea that designs are hypotheses that need
to be validated, and that creating a shared understanding among
development teams and stakeholders is the primary goal of development
We're interested in starting a Lean UX discussion/user group in Portland. I've been following Jeff Gothelf, and saw him at UXImmersion. Also hosted a round table discussion at WebVisions, and there seems to be a lot of interest in the topic of Lean UX. I think there is a lot of merit to the underlying ideas of Lean, and many obstacles to implementing them. Would anyone be interested in participating in a group that met once/month? How about just a single meeting? Please let me know on this thread.
I recently had dinner with one of my heroes and fellow Rosenfeld Media workshop leaders, Steve Krug. We had a long conversation about how to make mobile usability testing work for Agile mobile design projects.
The free webinar (link below) is the result.
Have you tried my PostIt notes methodology, and if so, what do you think? What techniques do you yourself use for Agile usability testing and RITE?
Is this sketching workshop still on? (I don't see anything mentioned in the IxDAPDX twitter feed or iSiteDesign's either, and nothing in this discussion group, so I'm wondering if this is more a rumour than a Real Thing.)
Thanks to all for coming out to the AIGA Digital Dialogues talk with @gradybritton and @knuckleheadspdx on the build of the Choicelunch iPhone app. The discussion was particularly great, especially re: prototyping for the focus group and adopting a lean ux workflow, so I thought I'd post some of the highlights.
