It's time once again for our end of the year holiday party. We invite you to come and throw off the cares of 2011 as we head into 2012. This is a potluck event, so please bring something good to eat - cookies, cake, meatballs, eggnog, beer, etc. And bring a silly gift (less than $15 please) for our White Elephant Gift Exchange. Whoever brings a gift gets to participate in this part of the festivities, but if you don't go in for gift giving you can still partake in other fun, such as our homage to Donald Norman and his book, THE DESIGN OF EVERYDAY THINGS.
Remember his description of affordances? We plan to assemble a group of bizarre and unusual objects with the intention of guessing what they are from their shapes and affordances. If you have anything strange that you want to add to the game, please do! Whoever in the group with the most correct answers gets to take home one of the items.
With all the various holiday events happening, we hope you can still squeeze in a few hours to enjoy this one with us. And hopefully we won't have any ice storms this year!
